If you are embarrassed to go get a test, or you are concerned with your anonymity, you can take a home AIDS test. These home tests can be purchased at drug stores, or ordered online. You need to make sure that you follow the instructions and steps for the test exactly. If you skip a step, or are not careful, you may get the wrong results.

When you complete your home AIDS test, there will be instructions on how you need to send those test samples to the laboratory they are going to be tested at. Usually the test package will have a customer number or test number with it. You will use this number to get your results. Some companies will mail you your home AIDS test results, while others require that you call with that customer number to check the results.

If your results are negative, you need to re-test again in 6 months, if your home AIDS test results are positive, contact your doctor immediately.
